To abridge or not to abridge that is the question. I for one am flexible. On a three hour car ride a nice abridgment gets you where you need to go and have nice short story to go with you. However, if the book is really good you inevitable end up feeling cheated. But, if the book really sucks you are grateful you did not have to spend anymore time than you had to. So I say abridge all the Grishams of the world as much ad you want. Just leave the good stuff alone.
